The Plant an Olive Tree Campaign
Delivery of 4800 olive trees donated by the Canadian AHEPA Family
We are pleased to announce the near completion of the delivery phase of the approximate 4800 olive trees purchased with the $50,000 donated by the Canadian AHEPA Family to the victims of last year's devastating fires in Peloponnesus.
The purchase and distribution of the olive trees has been most competently handled on behalf of the Canadian AHEPA Family by the AHEPA Hellas Daughters of Penelope.
| We are particularly grateful to the AHEPA Hellas District Governor Georgia Zacharaki who has worked tirelessly and passionately on this project. In bringing the project to such successful
fruition, AHEPA Canada and AHEPA Hellas have demonstrated the power of the AHEPA Family to reach across national boundaries, to bridge the Hellenic diaspora and help the land of our heritage in its hours of need. The villages that have so far been selected to receive the olive trees are Chrysafa, Daphni, Siamo and Desilas. Each village will receive approximately 1000 olive trees.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those in the Canadian AHEPA Family who contributed and/or worked to bring to fruition this project.
